Happy New Year!

To start of our year we’re engaging with a month of prayer and fasting in BCV. This week we hear a little  from Andy Smith on what fasting is and is not and why we are doing this as a community. We are also so excited to welcome Kate and Richie Cathcart who will be sharing a little about their story with the Penuel Children’s Foundation in South Africa and the importance of hope and perseverance in the face of disappointment.

As we approach Christmas we’ll start to hear the familiar Christmas carols. Songs we’ve perhaps sung since we were children. But how well do we connect with the story that they tell? Today we kick off our extended advent preaching series called ‘What Am I Singing About?” Each week we will be looking at a traditional Christmas carol and exploring it’s biblical foundation and application to our lives.

This week we are looking at the 1744 advent and Christmas carol, “Come, Thou Long Expected Jesus” written by Charles Wesley as he reflected on the needs of 18th century society and Haggai 2:7

Everyone is welcome!

What can you expect?
